The JCA didactic model

It becomes more and more generally accepted that 'the human capital' plays a key role in the present knowledge economy. Obviously, the value of knowledge decreases rapidly as time passes by. That is why an update of knowledge and competences delivers undeniably a whole number of advantages to the business. Just to name a few:

  • Productivity improvement
  • Quality improvement of delivered services (e.g. customer service)
  • Decreased time-to-market
  • Achieve a 'can do' mentality

In the context of quick and effective updates education is crucial. It is above all the quality of knowledge transfer that matters most in education. If the transfer is optimal, the trainee will be capable of applying the acquired knowledge and competences in the real work situation. Even though the market offers a whole range of trainings, an effective knowlegde transfer often appears to be an issue.

That is why JCA has been investing since long in a didactic model which guarantees an effective transfer. That model is the product of a collaboration with the Centre of Education Didactics of the Psychology and Pedagogic Sciences Faculty of the Leuven University.

The JCA didactic model incorporates new learning methods and environments taking it thus a step further than the traditional learning models which are more instructor oriented.
The learning methods we apply go further and tend to evolve around the student/trainee. Studies clearly show that a good balance between teaching, case-based and problem-based learning, and hands-on practice is a condition which makes it possible to acquire long-life knowledge and competences in the most effective way.
Practice and practice examples naturally play a key role in the 'hands-on' courses. However, real-life cases are also part of our generic courses: e.g. trainees writing a security policy individually; a design for an IP-tel implementation or a wireless network as a group task,...

Our application of case-based and problem-based learning can perfectly be seen as part of competence control, a concept which gradually finds its way through professional companies.

JCA ISO 9001:2000 certified

ISO 9001:2000
As part of our focus to deliver total quality to our customers, we are certified for ISO 9001:2000 (International Organization for Standardization).

It demonstrates how JCA complies with the requirements of the international ISO institute, which assures a high degree of quality and customer satisfaction. The certification is a confirmation of how people work at JCA: the trainee always takes the central place. This added value is a guarantee for the customer on the services JCA delivers.

Quality means continuous concern about improvement, with measurable parameters. Those measurements give the management team an overview, and allow them to keep the company in balance. Quality also requires the perpetual evaluation of processes, always looking for adaptation and improvement.

Employee participation is essential when it comes to quality. Staff must be trained in technology, quality and service. Each employee has to know what his responsibilities are. This is why we ask for evaluations and consider the individual's objectives, comparing them with the JCA objectives to find the proper matches.
